2011 Geiger Mustang GT

Although Ford has a strong handle on the American Muscle Car title with the 2011 Mustang GT, the car is not just for the United States.  A foreign tuner known as Geiger Cars has announced their own special edition 2011 Mustang GT, crammed full of goodies, including a super charger.

Go fast goodies on the 2011 Mustang tuned by Geiger include a 2.3 liter super charger that pushes the 5.0 engine to 500 horsepower.  In addition, Geiger has removed the speed limiter and claim a top speed now of up 170 mph.

In addition to power add ons, Geiger has outfitted the 2011 Mustang with some new shoes.  The rims are called OZ Ultralegerra and are extremely light weight, but not small on size.  Wheel sizes for the front are 8.5″ x 20″ and 10″x20″ in the back.  The wheels set the 2011 Mustang GT off from the rest of the pack and will hopefully continue to popularize the Pony car in Europe.

First Super Charger For 2011 Mustang GT

ProCharger has tested and released the very first super charger for the 2011 Mustang GT 5.0.  The ProCharger is considered to be the first to market for the 2011 Mustang, because the only other supercharger available now is for the Shelby, which sports a 5.4 liter V8 instead of a 5.0.  ProCharger feels that not only are they the first to market, but because of their 16+ years of experience int eh forced induction market, that theirs will remain the top charger for the new Mustang.

The new supercharger is built around the P-1SC-1 charger, which features an 8 rib drive capable of pushing 7 psi of boost.  This extremely conservative boost figure is capable of adding a whopping 140 hp to your already very capable 5.0 liter engine.

Flavors available for the new ProCharger kit are an HO Intercooled System and available is a complete Tuner Kit.  The Tuner Kit comes with every 2011 Mustang part necessary to install the super charger and start hitting the streets.  Items like a air-to-air intercooler, tubing, brackets, 53 lb injectors, bypass valve, and even a computer programmer comes with the 2011 Mustang GT Tuner Kit.

Be prepared to spend upwards of $5,000-6,000 for this 2011 Mustang 5.0 super charger.

Roush Mustangs At Dealerships

As of yesterday 2011 Roush Mustangs are now on dealer show room floors.  These mean built 2011 Mustangs are a bit more expensive than the stock 2011 GT, but imagine the horsepower and customization differences.  After all, if you were to buy one Mustang in your life, wouldn’t the 2011 Mustang be it?  There is not much more to hold out on, amazing performance, quality handling, and super gas mileage.

The new 2011 Roush Mustang is currently being offered in 3 distinct offerings.  They range from the mildly modified Sport edition, to a Stage 1, and then a race ready Stage 2 setup.  All come equipped with at bare minimum a graphics package and a few engine tweaks, but Ford set the bar high for performance needs.  Considering the stock 2011 Mustang GT pumps out over 400 horsepower, which is more than the 200 model Stage 2 Roush performance Mustang.  All this power is also accomplished by a naturally aspirated engine, bred for a power adder to make the horsepower ratings insane!

Roush 2011 Mustang Sport

The base upgrade and least expensive option for buying a 2011 Roush Mustang.   The Sport edition is equipped with the signature Roush aggressive body panels, including dramatic front bumper, splitters, and rear spoiler.  It’s obvious at first glance that this is no ordinary 2011 Mustang.  Consider the Roush Sport model an appearance upgrade package, which checks in at an additional $4,600.

Roush 2011 Mustang Stage 1

The Stage 1 Roush Mustang builds upon the appearance package of the sport model.  However, this 2011 Roush comes equipped with special rims and tires and Stage 1 badging.  This model Roush would still be considered an appearance upgrade to the stock 2011 Mustang GT, but with some unique Roush only rims.

Roush 2011 Mustang Stage 2

The current cutting edge 2011 Roush Mustang has a focus on suspension and handling.  Although all the apperance goodies from the Stage 1 can be found in the Stage 2, it also includes some suspension components that make the daily drive feel more like a competition slalom.   Specifically, the Roush Stage 2 features a wheel hop reduction kit, which helps transfer those 400+ horses to the ground and make handling performance even better.

Roush has yet to release their pavement eating Stage 3 Mustang, which will no doubt combine all of the 3 available now, with the addition of a power adder.  The Stage 3 usually is a race ready modified Mustang, which performs on the street and the track.  The 3 2011 Roush packages mentioned above range in price from $4,600 to $7,560, plus S/H.

2011 Mustang RTR Drifter Package

You read that right, Ford has announced that they will start offering a special edition RTR package for the 2011 Mustang.  The package is named after Vaughn Gittin, Jr which is known as a professional drifter.  Only in recent years has the popularity of drifting come over to the US, which is even slower to make it to the muscle car market.  However, Ford is answering the call and offering some great features for fans of the sport with the 2011 Mustang equipped with a RTR package.

Features of the 2011 Mustang RTR Package:

  • 19×9.5″ Wheels
  • Ford Racing Mufflers (Not complete exhuast)
  • Suspension Package, aka Ford Racing Handling Pack
  • Special engine and suspension calibration
  • high flow filter
  • Falken FK-452 High Performance Tires

It’s obvious from the features that the RTR package is not like the DUB Mustang, which focuses only on looks.  This 2011 Mustang package improves upon a good thing in the performance arena, focusing on suspension and handling.  Right out of the box it should make for a contender in the drifter challenges.

Not forgetting the looks, Ford also included some cosmetic changes to the RTR package.  Most notably will be the front chin spioler, splitter, and aluminum spoiler.  You’ll also notice on the rear of the Mustang equipped with an RTR package the diffuser, which gives the Mustang a lowered appearance, ideal for drifting.

As of this posting Ford only plans on allowing the 2011 GT to come equipped with the RTR package.  However, later this year there are plans to extend a version of the RTR package to the V6 versions as well.

Limited Supply of 2011 Mustangs

2011 Mustang At Dealership

When will the 2011 Mustang be available at the dealership? Now!

It looks like the 2011 Mustang has finally found it’s way onto the floor of dealerships, at least in limited supply.  According to analysts in major cities across the US, there are plenty of V6 ponies laying around but the power house GT are rare to find.  Most likely first production GT’s and manual shift V6′s have already been spoken for, so it will be some time before free vehicles are available for purchase.  You’ll remember next time to preorder. ;)

Also, there are a number of 2011 Shelby GT500 vehicles on the lots that are certified to sell them.  It’s a price point higher than a normal Pony Car, which means they might set on the lot a little bit longer.

Although demand is high for the 2011 Mustang, it would appear that dealers are not out to gouge customers.  Low supply on a hot car like the Mustang generally means a markup of $10,000 or more above sticker, but things appear reasonable across a subset of dealerships.  The flailing stock market would most likely be a contributing factor, let’s price these Pony’s to move!
