2011 Geiger Mustang GT

Although Ford has a strong handle on the American Muscle Car title with the 2011 Mustang GT, the car is not just for the United States.  A foreign tuner known as Geiger Cars has announced their own special edition 2011 Mustang GT, crammed full of goodies, including a super charger.

Go fast goodies on the 2011 Mustang tuned by Geiger include a 2.3 liter super charger that pushes the 5.0 engine to 500 horsepower.  In addition, Geiger has removed the speed limiter and claim a top speed now of up 170 mph.

In addition to power add ons, Geiger has outfitted the 2011 Mustang with some new shoes.  The rims are called OZ Ultralegerra and are extremely light weight, but not small on size.  Wheel sizes for the front are 8.5″ x 20″ and 10″x20″ in the back.  The wheels set the 2011 Mustang GT off from the rest of the pack and will hopefully continue to popularize the Pony car in Europe.

How Much For DUB Package?

The price has been set at $3,699, which is in addition to the standard 2011 Mustang V6 price.  The DUB package, considered an appearance upgrade, is designed and installed through the help of Ford, DUB Magazine, and even Roush.  Featuring body kit, rims, fancy trim, and banners, this is one slick V6 upgrade package.

As mentioned, the DUB Package is almost entirely appearance oriented, there is still one performance option included.  The gear ratio has been upgraded in the 2011 Mustang V6 to 3.31!  This means your 300+ horsepower V6 will be accelerating faster than a stock trim model.  With everything you get, the DUB package is a deal at just $3,699.

The 2011 Mustang GT will offer 8 different color options for the paint.  The following paint color options are listed below:

  • Grabber Blue2011 Mustang GT Color Options
  • Performance White
  • Kona Blue Metallic
  • Race Red
  • Red Candy Metallic Clear Coat
  • Black
  • Sterling Gray Metallic
  • Ingot Silver Metallic

The following interior color options are available.  This year at the launch of the Mustang GT there are only 2 to pick from for cloth interiors.

  • Stone Cloth
  • Charcoal Black Cloth

Whats New For The 2011 Mustang

There are literally thousands of small differences between the 2010 Mustang and the 2011 Mustang.  The differences don’t just affect the GT either, there are sweeping changes in the 2011 V6 and 2011 Shelby.  For example, for the first time in Mustang history, the V6 version will come with dual exhaust standard!

  • 2011 Shelby GT 500 ran 9 seconds faster on the Virginia International Speedway than the 2010 Shelby GT 500.
  • 5.0 Liter Engine returns to the 2011 Mustang GT for the first time since 1995.
  • First time in Mustang history a 6 Speed manual is offered for the base GT.
  • 400 horsepower barrier broken with a naturally aspirated V8 Mustang motor.
  • 300 horsepower barrier broken with a naturally aspirated V6 Mustang motor.

These are just a few stats and items that make the 2011 Mustang unique to last years model.  There are a plethora of details I could add about the way the 5.0 liter was made to make huge horsepower and epic fuel mileage.  It’s an honest return to the Pony Car, it’s the Mustang Ford should have been building all along.

With the bar set this high, I just can’t possibly imagine what Ford will dream up for the next iteration of the Mustang.

2011 Saleen Mustang SMS 302

The new 2011 Saleen SMS 302 sports a whopping 440 horsepower from the naturally aspirated 5.0.  The reworked heads provide a boost in horsepower over the already potent all new 5.0 coming out in 2011.  The Saleen SMS 302 reportedly rockets from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and will make the 1/4 mile trip in just 13.5 seconds.

Not only has the 5.0 been massaged to generate more horsepower, but the suspension has also been played with to achieve a higher level of handling.  Everything from the springs to the sway bars have been reworked to provide optimal handling and traction.

The 2011 Saleen Mustang SMS 302 will go into production next month sometime.  Itching for the latest and greatest, be ready to drop around $54,990 or $5,000 more if you want the convertible version.
